Position Summary

Sangfroid Strategy is seeking a highly experienced Senior Consultant to oversee and implement consulting engagements in our work with nonprofits, foundations, and governments focused on advancing social impact through data-driven strategy. The Senior Consultant will bring deep expertise in social impact, leveraging technology to advance the connection between data and strategy, overseeing data analytics projects, and strategy development to help clients achieve their missions. As part of project teams with more junior consultants, this position will provide leadership and mentorship to project teams consisting of associate-level and lead-level consultants.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Consulting (lead 4-6 client projects; oversee 3-4)
    1. Manage key client relationships through the facilitation of prototyping, program development and improvement, data-driven strategy, strategic planning, and implementation planning for social impact organizations.
    2. Provide senior-level consulting guidance as part of a project team.
    3. Lead project teams in conducting research and analysis to support project deliverables; prepare reports, presentations, and other project deliverables; develop recommendations; design the appropriate facilitation frameworks to meet client needs; and synthesize, analyze, and convert complex information, data, and insights into straightforward concepts.
    4. Collaborate with other consultants and project teams to develop and implement client projects.
    5. Serve as the Senior Consultant in client meetings and engagements.
    6. Provide mentorship to other consultants to ensure project success.
  2. Company Advancement
    1. Participate in training and development opportunities to expand technical and industry knowledge.
    2. Contribute to the identification and development of company goals, growth, and advancement tools.
    3. Support the development of core processes.
    4. Contribute to the company’s learning.
  3. Business Development
    1. Assist the Director of Consulting Services in building project approaches and writing scopes of work for client engagements.
    2. Work closely with clients to identify their needs, develop project scopes and deliver high-quality consulting services.
    3. Identify new business opportunities and meet business development goals (Y2+)

Position Requirements

  1. Proven track record of successful project management and delivery, including the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  2. Deep understanding of the social impact landscape, including the nonprofit, foundation, and government sectors.
  3. Passion for social impact and a commitment to using data-driven strategies to drive positive change.
  4. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  5. Working knowledge of organizational development, strategy development, implementation planning, and using data to drive strategy.
  6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting to executive-level clients and stakeholders.
  7. Strong business development skills, with the ability to identify and pursue new business opportunities.
  8. Ability to perform at an intermediate to advanced level in Google Sheets, Slides, and Docs.
  9. Experience and understanding of qualitative and quantitative research.
  10. Experience and formal training in group facilitation and public speaking.
  11. Ability to work effectively in a virtual team environment.
  12. Strong attention to quality, detail, and accuracy.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
  • Certifications or licensure: Evidence of advanced training and/or certification in relevant skills is required (project management, facilitation, strategy development, research, etc.).
  • Years of relevant experience: 7 - 10 years is required.

Technology and Tools

  • Proficiency in Google Suite or similar software is required.
  • Experience with the following technology and software tools is preferred: Google Suite, Asana, Google Data Studio / Other visualization software, Survey Monkey, MURAL / Jamboard

Additional considerations

  • Preference for candidates based in the Midwest, within a 3-hour drive of Cleveland, Ohio.
  • Work from home primarily, quarterly in-person team meetings in Cleveland, Ohio, annual company planning meeting, and travel for client meetings occasionally required.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements [Light]

  • The work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts that require normal safety precautions typical of offices, which include the need for general safe workplace practices with office equipment and computers, avoidance of trips and falls, and observance of fire regulations.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
  • This position is generally performed in a home-office setting although occasional off-site internal and client meetings in various settings occur.
  • The schedule is generally normal business hours although there is a requirement to perform work, attend meetings and events before or after normal working hours, and occasionally on weekends and evenings.
  • Some travel by personal automobile and a valid driver’s license is required. Occasional overnight travel is required.
  • Lift light objects [less than 20 pounds] and carry them short distances [20 feet or less].
